Dr Ciara Kelly co-presents Newstalk Breakfast weekday mornings from 7-9 on Newstalk FM. A lively mix of news, current affairs and topical conversation. It’s the most successful breakfast show the station has ever had and has the biggest market share on the station.
She previously presented Lunchtime Live on Newstalk which was at the time the most successful lunchtime show the station had ever had and won the IMRO National Radio award for Best Interactive Show. She has also won the IMRO National Radio award for Best Speech Broadcaster in 2020 and 2021. The only woman to ever do so.
She previously worked as a Medical Doctor for twenty years and also taught medicine at both under and post graduate level.
She has worked extensively in the media for the past 15 years and has a weekly column in Life Magazine in the Sunday Independent.
She has been a TV presenter and consultant working as medical expert on Operation Transformation, and presenting Body Shopping and Doctors on call on RTE. As well as presenting The Sunday show and the Tonight Show on Virgin Media.
She has always had a special interest in lifestyle medicine, women’s health & mental health.
She is an expert on communication skills and lectures and presents to corporations and other groups nationally and internationally on a wide range of medical topics. She has worked as an ambassador for GOAL and has reported from humanitarian crises around the world. She has four kids and a big dog so insisted we pointed out she is pretty good at multitasking and on occasion can even be funny!
