IMOGEN
My name is Imogen Cotter and I am a former professional cyclist. I transitioned to cycling from running at the age of 24, after graduating from the University of Limerick with a degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences. Since retiring from racing, it has been my goal to find the joy back in sport again. I have some exciting challenges planned this year across both running and cycling – bikepacking in the Pacific Northwest and getting under the 40 minute barrier in 10km to name a few.
My time as a professional cyclist was marked by adversity, when, after many years of trying to turn pro, I was hit by a car just weeks after signing my first contract. This near-death experience truly changed my life and lit a fire within me to use my platform to campaign for cyclist’ safety.
